An MSF staff members looking to a flooding area

In Pakistan, widespread destruction caused by flooding during monsoon rains has over 70% of the country inundated. An urgent scale-up of the response is needed based on the sheer number of people affected with current estimates at around 33 million people. With more than 1000 people dead and over 1500 injured, access to clean water and shelter are the most pressing needs.

After a year of extreme violence, people living in Port-au-Prince – Haiti’s capital – face precarious conditions. Thousands have left, and residents are dealing with extremely limited access to healthcare or basic services. However, more than 26,000 Haitians were expelled from the United States between September 2021 and June 2022. What does their future hold?

The four waves of COVID-19 recorded in northwest Syria have claimed the lives of 2,500 people. As of today, only 13.4% of the total eligible population (above 18 years old) is fully vaccinated. This is due to various reasons, such as giving priority to other life-threatening risks, lack of information or misinformation about the vaccines, and a lack of trust in the medical services provided. MSF launched a vaccination and awareness campaign in the region.

Our campaign

In 2016, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontiéres (MSF) began a humanitarian response for migrants in Libya. Our teams continue to bear witness to migrants experiencing violence inside detention centers and in surrounding settings. Lack of consistent access makes it difficult to provide continuous medical care for people with the most severe physical and mental needs, including survivors of torture.
