An Ebola outbreak has been declared in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is currently assessing people’s medical and humanitarian needs.
Right now, our teams are assembling essential supplies to launch a large-scale response as quickly as possible, coordinating closely with Congolese health authorities.
Over the past years, MSF has responded to multiple Ebola outbreaks in DRC. Our teams have extensive expertise in treating and containing the virus.
Because more than 95 per cent of MSF’s funding comes from private donors rather than from governments or large institutions, we are not directly impacted by global funding cuts. This independence means MSF teams are often among the first humanitarian responders in an emergency for one key reason: because we are already there.
By giving to MSF's General Fund today, you will be helping ensure we can respond to emergencies around the world, like the current Ebola outbreak.
