Registration

How do I register?+

We’ve tried to make the process as easy as possible. With just a few clicks you can register a personal page or a team page:

1. Click Start a Fundraiser
2. Choose your MSF event type
3. Are you creating a personal page? Or starting a team?
4. Follow the steps in the registration form
5. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*)

Is there a registration fee?+

No, there is no registration fee. We do encourage you to kick off your personal fundraising by making a personal donation to your fundraising page.

How do I join an existing team?+

1. Click on Find A Fundraiser
2. Search the existing team name
3. Click on Join Team
4. Follow registration form

Do I have to raise a minimum amount to participate?+

No, you do not have to raise a minimum amount to participate in a fundraising initiative.

I am having trouble registering. Who do I contact?+

How do I donate to support a participant or a team?+

1. Click on Find A Fundraiser
2. Search the person’s first or last name or team name
3. Click Search
4. Click on the person or team to go to their fundraising page
5. Click on Donate

Thank you for helping us in provide emergency medical care to the most vulnerable populations around the world.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?+

Yes, all online donations of $10 or more are provided a tax receipt. MSF Canada will issue a consolidated receipt for all your donations in the month of February after the previous tax year has closed. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our donor relations team at 1.800.928.8685.

I haven’t received a tax receipt for my donation. What should I do?+

We would be happy to assist you. Simply email us at donorrelations@toronto.msf.org or give us a call at 1.800.928.8685

I entered the wrong donation amount? How do I fix it?+

We’ve got you covered! Please email us at donorrelations@toronto.msf.org or give us a call at 1.800.928.8685. We will make the correction for you.

I have received cash/cheque donations. What should I do with them? +

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Click “Enter a new gift”
3. Enter the contact information for the donor and gift information
4. Choose the payment type
5. Click “Add”
6. Add another gift, or log out

Once you refresh your fundraising page, the gift will show up as part of your fundraising goal.

Please let us know when you add offline gifts to your page so that we can properly reconcile your giving.

Note: We prefer and encourage you not to send cash via mail. Consider taking the cash to the bank and writing a cheque from your personal account.

What’s the best way to collect donations for an event I’m asking people to sponsor?+

Setting up a fundraising page is an easy way for your supporters to sponsor you and allows you to regularly update your page with photos and your personal message. You can set up your fundraising page by clicking Start a Fundraiser

Do you have any information about MSF that I can display at an event?+

We have a selection of resources to help with your fundraising. You can download the individual forms and posters here or send us an email at communityevents@toronto.msf.org

Can I raise money for a particular country or crisis?+

We are able to respond to crises quickly around the world because of the unrestricted funding we receive from our generous supporters, this allows us to distribute funds where the need is greatest. This means there is no delay in mobilising, no waiting for government funds to be released and no lag as donation appeals are launched; we can act immediately.

If however, you prefer to allocate your donation to a specific country or crisis we will do our best to facilitate this. Please contact the Community Fundraising Coordinator at communityevents@toronto.msf.org

Participant Centre

Help, I forget my password or having trouble logging in+

The fastest way to fix the issue is to request a new password. Click on Forgot Username and/or Password on the login page. Then follow the steps to request a password reset. Still having trouble? Send us an email at communityevents@toronto.msf.org

How do I change my online fundraising goal?+

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Scroll down to the Your Fundraising Progress thermometer and click the Edit Goal button
3. Enter the new goal amount
4. Click Save

How do I change the picture on my personal fundraising page?+

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Scroll down the Personal Page section
3. On the right hand side click on the Update Media button
4. Click on Choose File button and find the picture you want to use
5. Click Save/Upload

How do I change the messaging on my fundraising page?+

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Scroll down to the Personal Page section
3. Click on the Edit Content button
4. Update your content and/or title
5. Click the Save button

How do I send an email to my personal network from my online Participant Centre?+

If you want to use a pre-written template:

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Click on the Email tab
3. Enter your future supporters’ names and email address in the “To:” field
4. To enter multiple email addresses, use a comma in-between addresses
5. Click on Use a Template and choose your message;
6. Then hit Send at the top of the page

If you want to write your own email:

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Click on the Email tab
3. Enter your future supporters’ names and email address in the “To:” field
4. To enter multiple email addresses, use a comma in-between addresses
5. Enter your subject line in the Subject field
6. Write your email
7. Then hit Send at the top of the page

Can I send a Thank You email to my donors?+

Absolutely, and we definitely encourage you to do so.

1. Log into your participant centre
2. Click on the Email tab
3. Select the Thank You email template and select Next

1. Update/Personalize your message
2. Add/Import your contacts
3. Preview and send your message
4. Log into your participant centre

How do I post my personal fundraising page link to my social media platforms?+

1. Copy your personal fundraising page link
2. Log into your social media account of choice
3. Write your post - add a personal message to the post and paste your personal fundraising page link
4. Click Share/Post
